Policies

My relationship with my clients is built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect.

As a condition of working with me, all clients agree to the policies below. They're non-negotiable. If you don't support any of my policies, that means our values aren't aligned and you can't be my client.

Does that bum you out? Me too! Check back once you've had a change of heart.

Privacy Policy

Prior to your first appointment, you will be required to complete a confidential health history form online. This form must be updated once a year or any time there are significant changes to your health history (ex. surgery, major illness).

The information in your file can only be released with your consent or as required by law. In order to best serve you, I may discuss your case with the other healthcare providers involved in your care.

Cancellation Policy

As a sole practitioner, 100% of my income comes from my valued clients. (That's you!)

When you cancel on short notice, my livelihood is jeopardized. You're also taking an appointment away from someone else who could benefit from my care.

I have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy.

If you cancel, reschedule, or shorten your appointment with less than 48 hours' notice, for any reason, the card on file will be charged for the full treatment cost. If you’re 30 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled.

No, really, ANY REASON: Illness, injury, emergency, alien abduction...

The lone exception: If you fill your spot, I'll waive the fee.

Think of your massage like a concert ticket. If you can’t make it, you either send a friend in your place or absorb the cost.

It's not a punishment; it's protection of my most valuable resource—my time. Oh, and I still donate a portion of the fee to charity.

The good news? I honour my policy in reverse! If I ever cancel on you on short notice, your next massage is free. I value your time and request the same in kind.

Appointment Times

Please note that the time you have booked is the length of your entire appointment, not the hands-on massage time.

At your first visit, I conduct a thorough intake interview where I cover your health history and your goals. I provide a detailed description of my treatment plan so there are never any surprises during your massage. I obtain verbal and written consent. Orthopedic assessments may be required to provide a safe and effective treatment.

I do my best to maximize your hands-on time, but please be aware that it isn't always the full length of the appointment time. You should expect up to 15 minutes for the intake interview at your first visit.

Want more time? I don't blame you! I always recommend booking at least 90 minutes.

Refusal of Service

For safety purposes, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • intoxication
  • derogatory or bigoted comments
  • sexual or romantic advances
  • illness or infectious conditions
  • contagious or unidentified skin conditions (ex. rashes or mysterious bug bites)

If you develop a skin condition, please clear it with your doctor before receiving massage. If you exhibit any of the aforementioned conditions or behaviours, you'll be denied treatment, charged for the appointment, and discharged from my practice.

Thank you for keeping my home practice safe.
